Established in the UK in 2011, Good Things Foundation recently launched in Australia to ensure everyone benefits from digital inclusion, particularly older Australians. Good Things Foundation is a registered Australian charity that supports digitally and socially excluded people to improve their lives and is the perfect union of technology and community support. The organisation offers online training, networking events and a range of important initiatives to improve equality.
With the support of the Australian Federal Government and a new National Director as well as an exceptional UK based team and Board, Good Things Foundation is entering an exciting time. As part of this growth trajectory, the organisation is looking for an exceptional Head of Network who will be critical to the organisation’s success.
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing, engaging and supporting a network of community-based organisations supporting older Australians (initially) and other groups to build their digital confidence and skills. Managing a small team of Network and Grant Co-ordinators, you will also be directly accountable for the delivery of the organisation’s $20m Be Connected Network Grants Program. In addition, given the age and stage of evolution of the organisation, you will be committed to contributing to organisational leadership, strategy, operations and culture.
You will have solid knowledge of the Australian for-purpose sector and ideally, grant making experience as well as management experience in a community-based setting. You will have a genuine passion for the role of social innovation / digital technology in delivering social change. You will be a strategic thinker capable of turning thinking into realistic plans and workflows, and managing implementation and support. You will be an effective and practical problem-solver and proactive and flexible in your approach, doing whatever is needed to get the job done. You will have proven experience successfully managing teams to achieve challenging delivery objectives within budget and on time. You will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline.
This role is full-time, located in Pyrmont, Sydney and will require interstate and international travel.
