Marketing Manager

Location: Sydney
Hours: Full time fixed term (37.5 hours per week or to be agreed) to 30 June 2020
Reports to: Head of Communications & Engagement

Salary: Up to $90,000 per annum plus superannuation + salary packaging

As the Marketing Manager, you will work alongside the Head of Communications and Engagement and the National Director to develop and implement a marketing campaign for the Be Connected program and Good Things Foundation.

You will liaise with the Good Things Foundation team and agency/freelance staff to manage and deliver on a digital inclusion campaign designed to motivate older Australians with no digital skills to seek support.

You will ensure all marketing products meet brand and organisational guidelines and appropriate approvals are gained prior to publishing. You will ensure there are clear calls to action across channels and empowering language and imagery is utilised. You will lead the project testing messaging to ensure it meets the needs of audience segments.

You will have the demonstrated ability to distil learnings and implement them throughout a campaign, reporting on outcomes.

You will be empowered to trial innovative ways of reaching our target audiences within the scope of the project and you will provide regular feedback to your line manager in one-to-one meetings.

You will be self-sufficient and able to work under your own initiative to juggle competing priorities. Your ability to collaborate with others, including international colleagues, and be flexible will be key to your success. You will relish solving problems and tackling any issues working with colleagues across the organisation to fulfil our organisational vision: to create a world where everyone benefits from digital.

Key Objectives and Accountabilities

Manage a targeted marketing campaign:

  • Liaise with agency, freelance and Good Things Foundation team to project manage and implement the Be Connected digital and print marketing campaign to potential learners in key demographics
  • Liaise with agency, freelance, Good Things Foundation team and our network of community organisations to test campaign messaging with potential learners, iterating campaigns and materials based on learnings
  • Ensure all campaign products meet brand and organisational guidelines, are appropriately approved, are empowering to community members and are delivered on time and within the scope of the project
  • Support the production of campaign collateral, which may include concept development, copywriting, design, sourcing stories and print production
  • Report on campaign outcomes and learnings to stakeholders

Contribute to Communications & Engagement projects:

  • Contribute to the development of Good Things Foundation’s brand strategy and business development initiatives, as requested
  • Collaborate with the Communications & Engagement team to deliver key projects


  • 5 years experience in marketing roles, ideally within the community services sector
  • Demonstrated experience delivering empowering marketing campaigns that motivate people to seek support
  • Experience delivering digital and print marketing initiatives within brand and organisational guidelines
  • Experience tailoring messaging to reach defined demographics and iterating campaigns based on learnings and research
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with agency and freelance staff to deliver campaigns in short time periods, with account management experience highly desirable

  • Proficient in Google suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to master custom CMS and CRM


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good vocabulary and attention to detail, including grammar and spelling
  • Experience contributing to the development of brand strategy is desirable
  • Education and Qualifications

    • Tertiary Education and 5 years experience in like roles
