Loan digital devices for flood-affected communities
Applications now open for grants to loan digital devices in flood-affected communities.
Being connected to community, emergency services, and friends and family is vital during natural disaster and recovery efforts. To help Australians impacted by the recent floods stay connected, Good Things Foundation Australia is distributing a total $300,000 in small grants to community organisations in flood-affected areas to provide loan devices.
The Digital Devices grant provides funding for community organisations in the Be Connected Network to purchase and loan digital devices and data to older Australians who are disconnected or have lost their devices due to the recent floods. With access to the internet, learners can build their essential digital skills and keep connected during this difficult time.
Each grant is worth $5,000 and is open to Be Connected Network Partners in flood-affected areas of New South Wales and Queensland.
“We know that a lot of people have lost everything in these floods. Getting online will be critical to helping people to recover, rebuild and reconnect. That’s why we are opening the Digital Devices Grant funding to community organisations in the Be Connected network, in flood impacted communities,” said Jess Wilson, CEO, Good Things Foundation Australia.
“As trusted organisations in their communities, our Network Partners will be able to match grant-funded loan devices and data with the people over 50 who need them most and continue to support them to build their digital skills and confidence through the Be Connected program.”
Applications for Digital Devices grants are open now until 29 April 2022 for eligible organisations in our network.
