New learning courses about the nbn™

Having a reliable connection to the internet at home has never been more important.

While the nbn™ is now available to most Australian households, some people are still not sure who to go to if they need help with their connection or what questions to ask when selecting an internet plan.

Good Things Foundation Australia has collaborated with nbn and our network of community organisations to develop two new, free online learning courses that help people transition to the nbn™ and improve their understanding of this essential service.

Designed for people who have a very basic knowledge of the internet, the courses cover:

• Connecting to the nbn™
• Picking the right plan for your household
• Choosing an internet service provider
• Getting the most out of your home WiFI connection

“Our online learning courses will help people to become more familiar with the nbn™. Having reliable information about getting connected to the internet at home is really important in supporting people to learn, work and stay in touch with family and friends online,” said Jess Wilson, National Director of Good Things Foundation Australia.

“We are proud to have designed these courses in collaboration with both technical experts at nbn and experienced digital mentors in our network of community partners to make sure the information is easy to understand and meets the need of people with low digital skills or knowledge,” said Jess.

The online courses are now available for free for anyone in the community to access, including nbn staff and community organisations in Good Things Foundation’s national network.
