The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact across all of Australian society. With social distancing policies enacted across the country, the crisis is highlighting now more than ever why it is essential for people to have basic digital skills.
But with the closure of physical premises for many community organisations disrupting their existing, successful digital literacy approaches, how have they supported people at risk of digital exclusion in this ‘new normal’?
This report contains the results and insights from Good Things Foundation Australia’s research and engagement with the Be Connected Network and learners during the COVID-19 pandemic: March – August 2020.
It highlights how community organisations in our Network have adapted their delivery of digital skills programs, barriers to a rapid transition in support models, the emergence of new program models, and the broader impacts of the pandemic on community organisations in the Network. The report also lists how we responded to the Network’s needs during this time of crisis.
